Holiday Accommodation that is Fabulous for Pets

Dogs are very welcome at Roaches Hall! With fabulous doggy walks right from the front door, it is just the place to share your holiday with them.

The driveway to Roaches Hall is about a third of a mile long; so there is no passing traffic or busy roads to worry about, should your dog rush out at the excitement of all that countryside! Inside Roaches Hall, whilst it is a grand house, we have designed it to be robust.  The reception rooms have wooden floors – no cream carpets for muddy paws here!

It is also a large house so you can bring more than one dog on holiday with you.  (We do charge a small cleaning fee of £30 per pet to ensure that the house is pristine for our next guests who may be allergic to pet hair.)

Numerous Local Walks to Choose From

Start your stay with a quick walk by taking the footpath in front of Roaches Hall which will reward you with spectacular views of the local area in just 15 minutes.  As you can imagine, there is stunning scenery for you to enjoy while your dog runs around freely and happily.

If you want to plan longer walks and adventures with your fellow guests and pets, consider buying the Ordinance Survey OS map  OL24 ‘The White Peak’ before you stay.  You’ll love the options that the Peak District offers you.  If you have smaller children in pushchairs or guests with more limited mobility there are a number of flat trails to enable everyone to enjoy the countryside.  Alternatively scramble up the rocks right by Roaches Hall for amazing views.

Pet-friendly Holiday Accommodation – Practicalities

Even though it can feel like Roaches Hall is a million miles from the hustle and bustle of modern life, it is easily accessible. Situated in the heart of England (just half an hour drive to Stoke or Macclesfield stations, then London Euston is 1½ hours or Manchester from just 30 minutes), you’ll be pleased that your dog won’t have to spend hours travelling to the extremes of the British Isles to enjoy such countryside. Local towns such as Leek and Buxton are approximately 15 minutes drive (so if you forget the doggy treats, supplies are available locally).

There are lots of dog friendly places to visit in the Peak District. These include the Heights of Abraham in Matlock Bath, Crich Tramway Museum, Chatsworth gardens and parkland and Treak Cliff Cavern where your dog can accompany you underground!

Dog Friendly Pubs in the Peak District

Local pubs welcome your dogs too.  Some of our favourites include the The Lazy Trout at Meerbrook (very tasty food here!), The Rock at Upper Hulme where dogs are allowed in the Pool Room and The Royal Oak at Rushton Spencer (usually this even has dog treats on the bar and water bowls available).

Roaches Hall is a fabulous dog friendly holiday home.  We do ask that you don’t allow dogs on the furniture and ensure any little ‘presents’ are cleared up in the garden. Plus, please do follow the Countryside Code.

Do give us a call on 01273 271332 if you have any further questions or book online.  With such a lovely house and location as Roaches Hall, it would be a real shame to leave your dog behind!
