We had an amazing stay at Roaches Hall with friends and family. The house was so well equipped, full of character, and we couldn’t get over how big it was. Perfect for our group of 26. We all arrived with loads of layers expecting it to be cold but it was lovely and warm, really cosy. Beds were really comfortable too! Special mention for the mini front door within the front door, that got a lot of comments. The location is absolutely stunning with amazing walks right on the doorstep. We booked this for my husband's 60th birthday to celebrate with family and friends for a week in August 2026.
The whole property was clean and well equipped for the 28 guests and the bedrooms were all a good size and everyone commented how comfortable the mattresses were.
The setting of the house is excellent with easy access to walks to the various rocks and countryside.
The driveway from the road to the house is 'rustic' to say the least and does need to be improved slightly.
One of our guests needed the accessible room and wetroom and had an unfortunate incident where the toilet and cistern in the wetroom fell over whilst she was sitting on it - this was obviously extremely stressful for her and even though the maintenance man came out very quickly, we were amazed to find out that neither the cistern or toilet itself were fixed to the wall or floor - just stuck with silicone!! This was rectified very quickly thankfully but meant she lost her confidence in using the facilities on her own without any help for the rest of the week.
It would also benefit from additional grab rails near the shower and to the left of the toilet too.
The showers were overall pretty good although a few people commented that the water pressure was poor and it was difficult to adjust the temperature to get it right - either too cold or far too hot so maybe these could be upgraded.
Overall we had a really nice week at Roaches Hall and if we were looking for somewhere for a similar number of people we would definitely consider staying there again.

We had an incredible stay at Roaches Hall as a family of 30. Equipped with everything we needed and the house itself is not only stunning but extremely comfortable. Beds all very comfortable, easy heating system and the addition of things such as toilet roll and dishwasher tablets really helpful. Our only issue was with one of the basement rooms being damp/damp smelling. Dehumidifiers appreciated but we did not use this room as a result. With that said its to be expected in such a historical house and didn't cause an issue as that guest just relocated into a twin room.

Wow , wow , wow and wow ! Incredible place, we hired over Christmas to host our Australian families. On arrival we were absolutely gob-smacked by the Christmas decorations, a tree to die for and Christmas lights festooned throughout. The place was exceptionally clean and each room was beautifully decorated. There were two huge welcome pack bags including Christmas chocolates for the children . We had an amazing time , thank you so much for making Christmas 2025 the best ever .
